THE UK’s best autumn beaches have been revealed, with some out-of-season sunshine expected in the coming weeks.
Temperatures could hit 24C in October, following Storm Agnes, and new research has named the best beaches in England and Wales to go to, to enjoy the last of the year’s warm weather.

Outdoors experts at Millets have analysed Google reviews, water quality ratings, ocean temperatures, facilities, accessibility and parking costs to find the best coastal locations.
From their research, they discovered that the best coastal location in England and Wales is Tynemouth, scoring 8.49 out of 10 overall.
The area’s main beach, Longsands Beach, is well known for its long stretches of golden sand and the powerful waves make it ideal for surfing.
The beach has an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5 on Google Reviews, the highest of any Millets looked at, while the average price of parking is around £3 for four hours, making it one of the cheapest.
In terms of facilities and accessibility at Longsands, the beach offers deck chair hire, as well as designated disabled parking and ramps leading to the beach for wheelchairs.
Next on their list was Weymouth, with a score of 8.33.
The award-winning Weymouth Beach is located in the very heart of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site that stretches the southern coast of England.
The beach has an overall Google Review score of 4.7 out of 5, from more than 5,000 reviews and also a promenade, making it easier to have a stroll along the beach front.
Poole is the third-best coastal area to explore, according to the research, scoring 8.09 out of 10 overall.
The main beach is Canford Cliffs Beach, which has won a Blue Flag Award.
It’s a gorgeous sandy beach and within walking distance of Canford Cliffs Village.
Canford Cliffs Beach also scored 4.7 out of 5 on Google Reviews, with a little over 1,100 reviews.
The facilities at the beach consist of various shops and cafes, providing easy access to refreshments on those scorching beach days.
The beach is also accessible, providing easily accessible parking and easy access for wheelchair users
The research also revealed that the region in England and Wales with the highest number of beaches is the South West of England, with 452.
This is over 250 more than South East England, which has the second-highest number of beaches with 199 in total.
Bournemouth Beach has the highest parking price of any beach in England and Wales, averaging £9.20 for up to four hours.
In comparison, Hartlepool Sea Front’s parking cost is the lowest at just £2.00.
