TENNIS star Sir Andy Murray is far from a business ace – as his five-star hotel flopped to a near-£1m loss last year.
The two-time Wimbledon champion, 36, saw the Cromlix Hotel, near hometown Dunblane, Scotland, fall £919,572 into the red – despite making a £400,000 profit in 2022.

Cash reserves for Cromlix LLP, which operates the 15-room estate, also fell from £1.1million to £140,000 in only 12 months.
It means net liabilities for the £2 million estate, which Murray bought in 2013 with wife Kim, stand at £1.5million.
The hotel had closed for three months at the start of last year to be entirely refurbished after the couple took on running the venue themselves, along with Andy’s mum Judy, 64.
In accounts filed last week, its directors said the business was “dependant upon the support of the members and related party to continue”.
It is a second blow for the Olympic champ after he was dumped out of the Australian Open in the first round by Argentinian Tomás Martín Etcheverry.
But Sir Andy is planning to expand the award-winning hotel after winning permission to build nine woodland cabins despite opposition from wildlife campaigners.
He is also planning to construct a “wellness cabin” on-site.
A hotel spokeswoman told The Sun: “Cromlix has had an exceptional nine months since its reopening in March 2023, following a complete refurbishment of the hotel and extensive work to the grounds.
“The hotel is generating its highest ever room rates since the Murrays bought the hotel in 2013, excellent occupancy, and restaurant and event bookings are also extremely strong.”
They added the Murrays had continued to pay the hotel’s 60 staff during the closure.
