It was Oscars night once again as celebrities hit the red carpet with some iconic fashion statements.
One A-list guest in particular stood out for the controversial outfit she chose for her Oscars debut.
Singer Tems, who was also the first Nigerian person to be nominated for an Oscar for the song Lift Me Up, opted for a while tulle gown, which blocked the view of other guests thanks to the accompanying headpiece.

Recently, the artist spoke to Harper’s Bazaar, revealing: “Two years ago, I would’ve said no to this dress.”
The singer, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, debuted at her first Oscars on Monday.
“I really wanted to make the most of the day,” she said. “The dress is also my way of celebrating my work and the people around me, celebrating my country, and celebrating the people that are rooting for me. This dress says, ‘Yes, yes, I am here!'”

The dress involved the star being wrapped in white tulle which also a featured a bridal-esque head piece.
Fans and Twitter users were quick to give the Free Mind singer some interesting feedback.
One post on Twitter, which received 9.3 million views and over 30,000 likes, pointed out Tems was blocking the view of the man sitting next to her.

Tweeters shared a mixture of positive and negative comments.
One user wrote: “I have been thinking about the people sitting behind her since the very start of the show.”
To which the original poster responded to the tweet saying, “That outfit is an a–hole.”
Another user attempting to clarify the situation, “At the Oscar’s the seats are set- you don’t just sit anywhere, and the people who make the seating know what they’re doing.
“Likely, the ‘poor soul’ sitting behind her was a paid sitter/usher which they do employ to keep the seats filled at all times,” they said.
