It’s run in the UK through the Tote online or at Tote windows on the track.

You can have a straight Win or Place, a Quinella, Swinger, Exacta, Trifecta and Treble where you pick the winner in three selected races.

Swingers are a good bet  where you have to pick two of the first three past the post in any order.

You can have a combination Swinger which includes more than two horses.

If you have three running for you it costs £3 and four horses is £6 but you can go bigger if you want.

What is the World Pool?

The World Pool is a collaboration between several countries around the world, allowing bettors to bet into the same pool as those countries on specific racedays.
In total, 2023 will have 18 World Pool events across the UK and Ireland.
Being able to bet into the same pool as the likes of Hong Kong, Australia, France and the US generates greater liquidity while also being able to go against fellow bettors from across the globe.
This means that punters can place larger, more significant bets without having an impact on a horse’s price.
For example, if you’d placed a £1 bet on each winner across 2022’s 17 World Pool days in Britain and Ireland, you’d have a 16% higher return compared to the usual, standard SP.
Significant differences can arise from the price offered on World Pool to that offered by the bookmakers, particularly with jockeys and trainers with international profiles generally being over-bet, with lesser known connections overlooked.

If any two of your picks finish in the first three home, you get a payout.

We’ll have a crack at the big-field Oak Tree Stakes (2.25). I like the look of White Moonlight while Breege and Fast Response can also figure in the finish.

A Quinella is the same as a reverse forecast so your two runners must be first and second past the post in any order.

Again, you can increase your chances by picking more than two horses.

Having three in your Quinella will cost £3 and we’ll have a crack at the Molecomb Stakes (3.00) with impressive Ascot winner Big Evs, Sandown scorer Kylian and the consistent Shagraan.
