SKY BROWN has become Britain’s first world skateboarding champion – aged 14.
The Olympic bronze winner produced a dazzling final two runs – as the three podium positions from Tokyo 2020 were reversed.
Sky Brown, right, made history with gold for TEAM GB in the UAE, while fellow Brit Lola Tamblyn was sixth
The Japan-born hero scored 89.63 and then 90.83 from the last two of her three efforts in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Brown said: “Being on the podium with these guys again is so crazy.
“There’s new girls ripping it and it’s really inspiring.
“I’m really stoked. It’s just been really fun. I was trying to enjoy it as much as I could.
“Landing all three of my runs was an amazing feeling.
“I didn’t really know until the end because all the girls are crazy right now.”
Olympic silver medallist Hiraki Kokona led until the final round with 86.66 – but fell on her final attempt.
And Tokyo champ Yosozumi Sakura struggled – but nicked bronze with 85.15.
British skateboarding fans revelled in Brown’s “absolutely amazing” victory, while Cornwall’s Lola Tamblyn came sixth.
