Taylor Swift’s dad leaves superfan in tears after seconds-long interaction at final Sydney show

It’s a seconds-long interaction between a concertgoer and a humble dad, but it’ll be seared into one Australian Taylor Swift superfan’s memory forever.

Lexie, who followed Swift from Melbourne to Sydney for her seven blockbuster The Eras Tour shows, shared a special moment with Swift’s father Scott Swift that will undoubtedly make the Lover singer’s final Accor Stadium show on Monday night unforgettable.

Affectionately known by Swifties as ‘Papa Swift’, Scott Swift can be seen in footage shared to TikTok walking across the floor at the stadium, before pausing in front of Lexie.

A cheering Lexi can be seen giving Scott Swift a friendship bracelet, and he, in turn, gave her a very special gift – a Taylor Swift guitar pick.

“I JUST MET PAPA SWIFT.. IM NEVER RECOVERING FROM THIS😭❤️👑 i gave him a bracelet and got a guitar pick 🏆🏆,” Lexie wrote alongside the video.

She also wrote in a comment: “literally the luckiest girl in the world 😭❤️he’s such a sweetheart”.

“IM STILL SOBBING… No words came out of my mouth… I was in complete shock 😭,” she wrote.

Scott and his ex-wife Andrea Swift – known to fans as ‘Mama Swift’ – usually accompany their daughter on her tours, though Andrea notably did not travel Down Under with Swift’s entourage in February.

It’s not the first time Scott has bestowed a special gift upon Swift’s Australian fans – ahead of her first record-breaking The Eras Tour Melbourne show, Scott personally handed out VIP passes to lucky concertgoers.

Radio personality Jacqui Felgate shared a message on her Instagram, which she’d received from the friend of one such lucky mother-daughter duo, who got upgraded just hours before Swift first took the stage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“A good news story out of the MCG,” the message sent to the 3AW presenter began.

“My friend and her daughter had the cheap restricted seats from yesterday’s release and rocked up as soon as the gates opened.

“Sat down and Taylor Swift’s dad went around and handed them wristbands and entry into the VIP section – apparently about $2000 in total value.

“Seriously lucky and how generous and kind is Papa Swift!!!”
