A stunning Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 that has been with the same owner for the past twenty years is up for sale at auction, and is set to go for a HUGE price.
The 1987 limited edition RS model, finished in black paintwork, has a guide price of £80-£100k, so it’s very much a car for serious fast Ford fans.

As near to original condition as you could possibly get, the rare Cossie has only needed some refurb work to the front air dam and rear bumper to bring it up to scratch
Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine – the same as you’ll find in regular Sierra RS Cosworth models, although each 500 model was sent to specialist Aston Martin Tickford to raise the power output from 201bhp to 224bhp.
But there are also tell-tale signs on the outside that tell you this is a particularly unique car, with the 500 having an extra rear spoiler under the huge whale-tail wing, a redesigned front bumper and badges on rear tailgate and front wings.
Inside is a real 80s treat, while the red and grey cloth seat trim looks to be in fabulous condition.
Charles Smalley of Silverstone Auctions said: “With a comprehensive history folder, Dating Certificate and workshop manuals there is little more to say other than that if you are looking for one of the most original, unmolested and desirable Performance Fords, freshly serviced and MOT’d, we suggest that your search may be at an end.”
The auction takes place over August 25/26th, as part of the Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival.
