The ex-pro is often whipping up debate by challenging what she believes are fuddy-duddy attitudes to the sport.

But this time she was just stirring a bowl in a kitchen during a homely update to her Instagram story.

The look suited the occasion for her monologue on “being yourself” – including “not giving a sh*t what anyone thinks about you”.

Having recently posed in lingerie for a Valentine’s Day and recreated a famous Will Ferrell scene from Anchorman, the American certainly seems happy to go with whichever flow she fancies.

And this time she told of her response to being told by a few fellow players she was bad for the image of golf.

Paige revealed she’s sometimes told “she’s really cool, a decent player but she’s not a good ambassador for the game”.

And from those encounters she delivered a “really good life lesson for everyone”.

The 29-year-old, who was named the “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Maxim last June, believes she is now better off ignoring the views of others.

Paige said: “It just shows you can be friendly to someone. You can do everything that you think is right. But there will be people out there who just don’t like you.

“So you might as well just start living your life the way that you want to live it.

“And I think in my career, and the way I’ve changed so much, since I’ve stopped living for everyone else, and doing what I wanted to do, I’m significantly happier.

“Of course people are going to hate, no matter what, but I’d rather have them hate on me when I’m having fun and doing things I want to do rather than trying to please them and still get hated for it.

“You might as well just don’t give a sh*t what anyone thinks about you and do what you want to do and be much better, in a much happier place.”

And that’s a home truth many will agree with.
