The blue Mk1 Capri 1600 GT was first sold in 1973 and has only done 45,000 miles since then.

Its current owner and car connoisseur, bought it recently to add to his “collection of Fords“.

However, now needs to get rid so he can focus on doing up another classic and has listed it for £15,100 – accepting cash offers only.

Describing the car, the owner said: “The paintwork on this Capri is lovely, with no visible rust, just a couple of very, very minor stone chips that have been touched in, but not really noticeable.

“I have had the car up on the ramp and it is in stunning condition with no signs of any welding at all, it has been waxoyled from new with the receipt in 1973 for the sum of £36.30.

“It has also been waxoyled and treated under the bonnet which, although it’s been done and you can’t see the original blue paint, it has done it’s job and saved the car from rusting.

“It fires up straight away and everything works.”

He added: “The seats are perfect, headlining as new.

“Any serious buyer needs to view this car in the flesh!

“It truly is lovely but is 50 years old. I have just fitted new tyres on the front as they had some slight cracking in the sidewall.”

One person and fellow car fanatic said: “I had one of them in the late 80s and early 90s. I loved it.

“If I had £15k there would be no questions at all.”

Another wrote: “Just wish I had the spare cash.”

It comes after another low-mileage Ford Capri sold at auction for £42,250.

The car, now lovingly restored, was tucked away for 23 years in dry storage.

And a white Capri, with a sunroof and the original Ford dealer catalogue, was also up for grabs.
