Sheree Gustin, the ex-wife of General Hospital star Steve Burton, has welcomed her fifth child.

Two years ago, it was reported that Burton, who has starred on The Young and the Restless, had filed for divorce from Gustin, bringing an end to their 23-year marriage.

He confirmed on Instagram in May 2022 that he and Gustin, 45, were separated.

According to People, court documents listed March 1, 2022 as the official date of separation and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the divorce.

“I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated,” Burton previously wrote on his Instagram Story.

“She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve,” he wrote.

Burton and Gustin had been reportedly just “co-existing” in their marriage before the split was made public.

“It was very strange for someone like Steve to announce this publicly, but the marriage has been just coexisting for a while,” a source told People.

The couple married in 1999 after meeting on the set of General Hospital.

Two years ago, Burton confirmed on Instagram the rampant rumours that he was fired from the long-running ABC soap opera because he would not get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“I wanted you to hear it from me personally,” he said, before launching into anti-vaccine rhetoric.

“Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied. Which, you know, hurts. But this is also about personal freedom to me,” he continued.

Burton then went on to express gratitude to the show, where he’s played Jason Morgan on and off since 1991, as well as to the fans. He said: “Maybe one day if these mandates are lifted, I can return and finish my career as Jason Morgan. That would be an honour.”

After Burton’s post on Instagram, ABC confirmed his departure was because of his non-compliance with the show’s vaccine mandate.
