TRIBUTES have flooded in for Stefano Cherchi after he tragically died two weeks after a terrible fall.
The jockey was left with a head injury and internal bleeding after racing in Australia.
The Sardinian rider, best known in Britain for recording winners under trainer Marco Botti, was treated for an hour on track before being moved to hospital.
One heartbroken fan said: “So so sorry to hear this Eoin, he was a lovely young man. My thoughts are with you all at this time.”
A second wrote: “So bloody sad, condolences to you Eoin and all his family, friends and colleagues. As a punter we ask the world of jockeys, we all need to remember how dangerous this sport can be, best wishes to all jockeys and trackriders.”
