The drinks, which were first introduced in the US, Japan and Italy earlier this year, will be hitting menus at a select number of London stores tomorrow, May 4.
The new line is called Oleato and includes a latte, iced espresso and cold brew.
Each of them comes with a tablespoon of Partanna extra virgin olive oil mixed in.
The Sun got an exclusive first taste of the unusual coffees at Starbucks’ top secret labs back in February.
The Oleato Iced Shaken Espresso is made with rich espresso and oat milk over ice and the Oleato Golden Foam Cold Brew is cold brew coffee topped with cream foam.
Then there’s the Oleato Caffé Latte, which uses Starbucks blonde espresso roast beans and is served with whichever type of milk you prefer.
Each drink is infused with olive oil, either steamed, shaken or blended in.
Their prices are as follows:
Oleato Iced Shaken Espresso – £5.45 (tall size)Oleato Golden Foam Cold Brew – £5.65 (tall size)Oleato Caffé Latte – £4.65 (tall size)
Do bear in mind that prices will vary from store to store and depending on which size you get.
Starbucks top boss Howard Schultz said he was inspired to add olive oil after visiting Sicily where he spotted locals sipping a spoonful in the morning.
Alex Rayner, general manager, Starbucks UK, said: “We are very excited to bring Starbucks Oleato to the UK for the first time, introducing a new coffee ritual to the capital’s coffee lovers.
“Whether you enjoy Oleato hot or cold, the alchemy of coffee and olive oil yields a rich texture that pairs the buttery, round flavours of the olive oil with the soft, chocolatey notes of the coffee – it’s unique.”
Only 50 stores in London will be offering the drinks initially, we have asked Starbucks if they’ll be rolled out nationwide in the future and will share when we have more information.
