Oliver Mills was the lucky person who got Taylor Swift’s 22 hat at her second show in Melbourne, and there’s one thing that everyone wants to know.
How did he get chosen?
The social media star’s comment section has been flooded with Swifties begging him to reveal how he got selected as the person to receive the hat, but he’s yet to give any of them an answer.

Throughout the Eras Tour, Swift has created the tradition where, during the Red era toward the end of her song 22, she gifts one lucky fan the hat she’s wearing.
On the second night in Melbourne, Mills was the more than deserving recipient of the honour.
Not only is he a well known Swiftie, but Mills attended the concert in an iconic costume, he dressed as Jack Antonoff in the viral clip of he and Swift producing the Getaway Car bridge.

In a video posted to his TikTok (a page that has largely been dedicated to Swift lately) on Monday afternoon, Mills shared that it’s not just fans that have been begging for him to reveal the story behind the adorable interaction, but news outlets too.
While some may think they’ve gotten a straight answer, it turns out he may not have been telling the truth.
“I’ve been lying to all of them,” he said of the interviews he’s given regarding how he was chosen. “Lying is the most fun that you can have without taking off your clothes.”
And we have to say, it’s kind of a valid response.
You see, the moment Swift and Mills shared is sacred. They hugged, he gave her a bracelet, she gave him a hat.
According to Mills, Swift even told him that she liked his videos and that she thought he was funny.

If he were to share the intimate details of their interaction and how it came about, it would lose some of its sparkle.
Meeting Taylor Swift is something we could only imagine is a spiritual experience, one that is probably hard to put into words.
He says his typical response to the question is to dodge it by saying something along the lines of “it was such a magical moment.”
Which, technically, is not a lie.

The Eras Tour itself is a magical experience so it’s only reasonable that getting to meet the incredible woman behind it all would take it to a whole new level.
The meeting between Mills and Swift was a special moment shared between two people, and it seems that it’s going to remain that way.
