SKY TV users are finally getting the ‘global treatment’ when it comes to sharing their Netflix password.
In May, the streaming giant rolled out an account sharing ban to subscribers in 103 countries, including the UK, US, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore and Brazil.

Sky offers Netflix subscriptions as part of some of its bundles.
But users had apparently not been forced to quit sharing accounts up until now.
In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), Sky’s help team warned customers of Netflix account sharing ban “as viewers receive new TV alert.”
Netflix viewers who bought their membership outside of Sky have faced this TV alert for months, with most folks receiving the on-screen warning earlier this year.
“Netflix are introducing some changes to stop account holders sharing their account with people outside of their household,” Sky tells viewers in an FAQ.
“A Netflix account is meant to be shared by people living together in one household.”
This means Sky TV viewers will only be able to share their Netflix account under one roof, or address.
To share their Netflix account with people outside of their household, they’ll need to add them as extra members for an extra monthly charge.
However, Extra Members isn’t available through Sky.
So, customers will have to buy a subscription separate to their Sky package if they want to add another member.
The good news is that Sky customers can use the profile transfer feature to create a new Netflix account – so their hard-earned suggestions algorithm doesn’t completely disappear.
However, there are two hang-ups with this.
Firstly, this new account cannot be paid for through Sky.
And secondly, Sky customers cannot currently transfer a profile into a new Netflix account that is paid for through Sky or linked to a Sky package.
If they would like to transfer a profile to a new account with a partner package, they must first transfer the profile to a new account, and then link the account to the package.
