Drake has become the latest celebrity to be pelted by an object on stage – joining a slew of performers who have become victims of an increasingly disturbing trend.
Drake, 36, kicked off his It’s All a Blur tour in Chicago overnight when he was hit by a mobile phone that was thrown onto the stage from the crowd.
The rapper was singing a cover of the Ginuwine song, So Anxious, when a phone flew on stage and struck Drake in the wrist.

The phone didn’t appear to injure the rapper who continued on singing unfazed.
Shortly after, videos capturing the incident quickly did the rounds on social media and commenters expressed their vehement distaste for concert-goers who are flinging items on stage and at artists.
“Fans need to stop this,” one disappointed fan expressed under a clip of the incident.

“What is this “trend”???? Why are we throwing literal OBJECTS to artists on stage???? Have we lost all of our concert etiquette good lord,” another said.
“These people are going to ruin concerts for everyone,” a third added.
This comes just days after country singer Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the eye during a show in Idaho.

According to clips posted on social media, the singer was mid-way through an acoustic song when something flung it from the crowd and hit her right in the eye.
The singer immediately clutched her face in pain before abruptly handing her guitar to the stage crew before running off.
She later returned to the stage to finish the show and went on Instagram to deplore people for throwing things on stage.

Similarly, pop singer Bebe Rexha was also recently attacked on stage when she was struck in the eye by a fan’s phone causing lacerations that required stitches.
Pop singer Ava Max also experienced her own terrifying scenario when a fan miraculously made it past stage security and climbed on stage in an attempt to bear-hug the singer – scratching her in the process.
Likewise, Pink had a fan throw a bag containing their mother’s ashes onto the stage during a performance in England. The So What singer, 43, was left visibly unsettled by the incident.
