British pop star Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel are engaged!
The 31-year-old Boom Clap songstress announced the news to her 4.5 million Instagram followers this morning, writing alongside snaps of herself and Daniel: “charli xcx and george daniel f—ing for life!!!”

Charli XCX – whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison – reportedly initially shared a snap of her engagement ring on Tuesday to the exclusive Instagram she has with only her biggest fans as her followers, and then later announced it to her public account on Wednesday.
In her private post, Charli XCX held up her hand and flashed her sparkler in a casual selfie.
For the world to see, she shared a series of photos of herself and George, with the first showing them kissing and embracing, and the second featuring a tray of tea with an engagement ring in a ring box on top.

George’s bandmate, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, commented on Charli XCX’s official announcement: ”I cry 🥺”.
It was several months ago that Charli XCX herself notably commented on a post made by The 1975 on the band’s Instagram – she jokingly wrote “Stop touring, George needs to buy a ring” on their tour announcement.
The couple first met in 2021 while working together on the single Spinning alongside Filipino singer No Rome.

In May 2022, Charli XCX confirmed the relationship with an Instagram post shared while they were on holiday together.
Earlier this year, they released the single Welcome to My Island (Remix) together, in which Charli XCX sings: ”It was love at first sight from the moment we kissed / I want a white dress, country side house, and kids”.
It seems she’s well on her way to achieving her wishes.
