ANGRY shoppers have threatened to boycott a legendary drinks brand as it makes major change to bottles.
Energy drinks fans have been left less than buzzing after the company got rid of its iconic sports cap bottles.

The popular drink left fans devastated after scrapping their loved bottle lids
Squeezy tops on big bottles of Lucozade Sport were quietly scrapped and replaced with “criminal” screw tops earlier this month.
The sports caps – designed to let athletes and runners drink on the go – were binned after demand soared, causing a temporary shortage in the custom-made bottle fittings.
But orange electrolyte gluggers hit out at the change online, with mum-of-two Vickie asking: “Why have you changed the lids on Lucozade Sport drinks?
“Kinda now defeats the object of being able to drink on the go while running if I now have to faff with a lid, or throw (it) to my son to drink on the sidelines of football.
One other drinker fumed: “Lucozade sport what have they DONE to you?!?!
“This is criminal lads, change the lid back.”
Lewis Wye added: “What do you call this monstrosity of a cap that you’ve now changed to on your bottles?
“Outrageous if you ask me.”
And James Townley joked: “Surely this is a malfunction or is the new label a marketing ploy designed to disguise the half-filled bottle.
“Didn’t realise it was near empty till I got home.”
Meanwhile, other drinkers took to TikTok to slam the brand and share their disappointment.
On one video a shopper fumed: “I’m never getting Lucozade ever again.”
Others penned: “The lid was the only thing that made it taste good.” And another added: “I simply couldn’t drink that, with that lid.”
Angry users have even threatened to boycott the product until the brand brings the iconic lid back.
“Lucozade is going down in sales then because that is just unnecessary,” one user blasted.
“Off we boycott and stop drinking they have to change it back,” someone added.
Three Lions sponsors Lucozade Sport – launched in 1990 – has previously partnered with Raheem Sterling and Anthony Joshua to launch special flavours of the drink besides its famed orange twist.
The brand told customers on X/Twitter: “Demand is high across the range at the moment, and we are experiencing a shortage of caps on our 750ml size bottle.
“The flat caps are a temporary measure.
“We appreciate the flat cap might take some getting used to if you are using during exercise.”
It comes as Lucozade fans were left literally buzzing after spotting a favourite flavour that disappeared from supermarket shelves.
The fizzy drink company’s popular Caribbean Crush was temporarily pulled last December following issues with its bottle supplier.
Lucozade said the change is temporary due to a caps shortage
