Shoppers rush to buy ‘brilliant’ air fryer that is currently going for just £45 at major supermarket

SHOPPERS have been rushing to buy a “brilliant” air fryer from a major supermarket that costs just £45.

Asda is selling a digital air fryer for £45 and what’s more is that it is on sale from £59 – a £14 saving.

The air fryer is currently on sale for £45

The air fryer is 6.2L which can cook up to four portions of food at once.

It uses 2,000W and comes with a digital touch screen to control the cooking time – see below on how much this could cost you to run.

Shoppers have been raving about the product after someone posted Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargains group to say that it was in stock at their local Asda.

When asked if it was any good, one person who has already bought the air fryer said: “They’re brilliant.”

While another commented: “I have 2 of these ones they are brilliant not had any problems at all nice size as well.”

Wile another added: “I’ve got an Asda one, had it over a year and use it alot, I can’t fault mine.”

However, at the time of writing the air fryer was out of stock online.

Your best bet is to head to your local Asda and see if they’ve got it there.

Prices and stock will vary from store to store.

You can use sites like Trolley.co.uk to compare prices, or search on Google shopping.

For example, we found a Salter EK2817H 2L air fryer for £39 from B&Q.

It also uses 1,000W and has a 30-minute timer.

It might be useful if you’d rather go get the item yourself – you can find your nearest store using the locator tool on its website.

How much does it cost to run an air fryer?

Don’t get carried about with how cheap the purchase price is – remember, it also costs to run one.

Keep in mind the cost is different for everyone, as what you pay for electricity will depend on your tariff and also how large and efficient your appliance is.

Similar to any appliance, a newer model is likely to be more efficient, and be cheaper to run than an older version.

The power of an air fryer is measured in watts, and this determines how much energy it uses – and the cost of using it.

But the more powerful the appliance, the quicker it will cook your food too.

A 1,000W air fryer costs just 17p to run for 30 minutes and 34p to run for an hour.

While a 1,500W air fryer will set you back 26p for half an hour, and 51p for an hour’s use.

A 2,000W gadget costs around 34p for 30 minutes, and 68p for 60 minutes.

But it could still be cheaper than an oven – to find out, read our guide here.

Shell Energy estimates that insulating them properly – such as putting a big rug down – could save you up to £180 a year.

It’s easy to forget about your loft if you only use it to store your old junk.

But as heat rises, it can escape through small gaps around your loft hatch.

According to Energy Saving Trust, insulating your loft properly will save you at least £330 on your bills.

The supplier also estimates you can save roughly £200 a year by turning your thermostat down by two degrees.
