‘She said no’: Post Malone reveals why mystery fiancée turned him down when he first proposed

Congratulations are officially in order for Post Malone!

The 28-year-old Chemical singer has finally opened up about how he proposed to his fiancée – an engagement he somewhat confirmed in 2022, but never said anything further about. Until now.

Malone, who was born Austin Post, opened up overnight on the podcast Call Her Daddy, and revealed to host Alex Cooper that he actually proposed to his fiancée two years ago in Las Vegas – but she said no when he first asked.

“It was in [Las] Vegas,” Malone told Cooper of the 2021 proposal, before clarifying: “We’re not married, it was just a proposal.”

He then went on to reveal why his fiancée – whose identity has yet to be revealed by Malone – declined his proposal at first.

“I had lost a significant amount of money at the table. We go upstairs and I’m off my rocker hammered and I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna marry me?’ I got a ring and all this stuff,” he said.

“And she said, ‘No.’ She’s like, ‘Ask me tomorrow’ and I was like, ‘Alright.’ And then I did and I was sober and it was nice.”

The Circles singer said his fiancée, who he said he always “knew” was The One, was “right” and he asked her again the next day.

She said yes, though the fact that she did so had never been confirmed in detail until now – and her identity has yet to be revealed.

Though Malone has kept her identity a secret, he hasn’t been shy about other aspects of their relationship.

“I could tell… her heart is so massive,” Malone said on the podcast as to why he knew she was The One.

“I’ve always wanted kids and a big family. And I could tell she was going to be a really good mama. And she’s like, No. 1 mum in the f–king universe.”

It was during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM in June 2022 that Malone let slip he had a fiancée, though at the time, more emphasis was placed on the fact that the couple had secretly welcomed a baby daughter together.

He also opened up at the time about how his partner had helped him get through his struggles with alcohol.

”I am responsible now,” he told Stern about his relationship with alcohol at the time.

“It was to a really rough point, and I couldn’t get up off the floor for weeks.”

“I just have super beautiful people around me, and I met a really beautiful person that made me feel like a human being again,” he said of his partner’s support.

“It’s the guidance out of the dark into the light… She saved my f–king life – it’s pretty epic.”

Malone told Cooper more than a year later his biggest fear is “not being able to be there for my baby.”

He said: “That’s why I tried to slow down on drinking, to take better care of my body.”
