SHAKIRA’S pal has revealed the real reason the singer wrote a diss album slamming her ex after their bitter divorce.

Following the release of her explosive hit Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53 where she roasts Gerard Pique, the Colombian pop star has been working on a new song with Karol G.

The artist has previously shown her support for Shakira following her split with Pique as she was spotted in an NBA game wearing a shirt with the phrase “too big for you”- a clear reference to Shakira’s song with Bizarrap

And now in an interview with the NY Times Karol G has revealed the real reason Shakira has opened up about her breakup with the former Barca star.

She said in their upcoming duet “TGQ,” the Hips Don’t Lie, artist is “letting a lot of anger go.”

Karol G said the song and the collaboration with Shakira was something she was hoping for for a long time.

She explained that the two of them had sent each other songs over the years but none of them was exactly right.

Speaking about Shakira’s reaction when she heard it, Karol G said: “She was, like ‘Oh my God, thank you. Those lyrics are perfectly the way I feel right now.’”

The song was meant to be released on Shakira and Pique’s shared birthday on February 2 but it was mysteriously delayed.

After her split from the footie ace, Shakira, 46, took a swipe at Pique and his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in her diss track.

She has been open about their breakup in her recent singles Te Felicito and Monotonía made.

The star recently took another shot at Pique after she posted a clip on social media as she lip-synced the lyrics “I might kill my ex.”

Meanwhile, the former footballer referred to his Shakira for the first time since their split during an interview.

Tiktok star John Nellis questioned Pique over the best-known contact in his phone during the chat.

Pique replied: “I would say Shakira maybe, who was my partner.”

He recently referred to his younger lover Clara Chia as his girlfriend and confessed he was a “puppet” of the 23-year-old clothing choices during an on-air chat with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos.
