FORMER Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop is conscious and recovering – but a ‘little embarrassed’ – after collapsing on live television.
The 54-year-old collapsed during a live broadcast on ESPN ahead of Real Madrid’s pre-season friendly against AC Milan on Sunday.

With the temperature in Pasadena, California around 30 degrees celsius, dramatic footage captured the moment Hislop began to sway before falling forwards and onto the ground.
His co-host, Dan Thomas, was forced to call for help midway through the pre-match coverage.
The camera quickly cut away to a commercial break, leaving viewers stunned.
But Thomas later confirmed that Hislop was “conscious” and “okay” albeit a little “embarrassed”.
At half-time, Thomas said: “My mate, Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it’s good news.
“He’s conscious, he’s talking, I think he’s a little embarrassed about it all.
“He’s apologised profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.
“Obviously far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is that Shaka’s conscious and we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live.
“We spoke to his wife and things are looking okay.”
Hislop played for Newcastle and West Ham before retiring from professional football in 2007.
He now works as a broadcaster for ESPN.
The pre-season match finished 3-2 to Real Madrid, with Federico Valverde and Vinicius Jr netting the goals for the Spanish side.
