Several supermarkets have already sold out of iconic Cadbury Easter eggs – and shoppers are fuming

SUPERMARKETS have already started running out of popular Cadbury eggs ahead of Easter Sunday.

The chocolatier’s iconic Creme Eggs appear to have sold out at several major retailers.

Cadbury Creme Eggs are all out of stock on the Sainsbury’s website

Tesco shoppers have also been unable to add Cadbury Creme Eggs to their online basket

Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are listing all Cadbury Creme Egg products as out of stock on their websites.

A source at one of the major supermarkets told The Sun: “With only a few days left until Easter, selling out of these Cadbury eggs is to be expected.”

Other shoppers have complained that they can’t get hold of the Easter staple in stores too.

One shopper posted on Twitter and said: “@Asda didn’t realise bird flu had stopped the sale of Creme Eggs too! #Whereisthechocolate #Easter.”

It means that those who haven’t got sorted for Sunday will have to hunt around and shop elsewhere to get their hands on the fondant-filled eggs.

Asda usually sells five Creme Eggs in a box for £2 and customers can get packs of ten for £4 too – but right now they’re completely out of stock.

The same goes for Morrisons which usually sells five Creme Eggs for £2.25 and ten for £4.25.

Customers can’t even buy individual 40g eggs on Morrisons’ website which cost 70p.

Sainbury’s five egg boxes usually cost £2.50 and their ten-pack boxes set shoppers back a fiver but they’re also out of stock online.

The same goes for the supermarket’s individual 40g Creme Eggs which usually cost £1.50 each.

The same Creme Boxes are also completely out of stock on Tesco’s online grocery website.

The supermarkets failed to respond to our request for comment.

However, if you’re desperate to get your hands on some Creme Eggs before Sunday – Ocado still has them in stock.

Shoppers can get their hands on the following Cadbury Creme Egg products:

Single 40g Creme Eggs – 40pCreme Eggs Min Bag 78g – 95pFive pack Creme Eggs – £2Ten pack Creme Eggs – £6.75

But be aware that you’ll have to pay a delivery charge of between £2.99 and £6.99 if your total shop costs less than £75.

With only two days to go until Easter Sunday, you’ll also need to be quick to book a slot in time for the big day.

There are still plenty of other Easter Egg bargains to be had in time for Sunday too.

It comes after Cadbury told The Sun that a newly-launched Creme Egg has already sold out.

Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, has confirmed that white chocolate Creme Eggs are now unavailable.

Cadbury unveiled the white chocolate Creme Egg just five months ago in November 2022 and it marked the first major innovation to the chocolate treat in over 50 years.

The introduction of the new egg came to get the Christmas season off to a cracking start and Cadbury confirmed that the product would remain on the shelves all the way until Easter.

The newly-launched egg features the unique Creme Egg gooey centre which is coated in a white chocolate shell.

But the overall popularity of the new Creme Egg variety has meant that Cadbury has now confirmed it’s been wiped clean off the shelves before Easter.
