Selena Gomez is all natural in a new batch of bare-faced selfies. The actor and Rare Beauty founder celebrated her authentic self with a series of casual photos taken on the couch and windowsill, simply captioning the gallery, “Me.” In keeping with the unedited ethos of her post, Gomez also let her natural curls shine through, resting her head in her hand, and giving her followers a glimpse at her semicolon tattoo.
Gomez is a known mental health advocate, and her recognition of natural beauty is a refreshing reminder to embrace the skin we’re in – we deserve to embrace ourselves regardless of our perceived flaws. This is the philosophy Gomez lives by, or at least, it’s one she built a brand on: Rare Beauty, which Gomez founded in 2019, is all about honoring differences, and breaking down “unrealistic standards of perfection.”
In an early brand statement, Gomez said she entered the industry to “shape conversations around beauty, self-acceptance, and mental health.” And although she knows her stuff when it comes to makeup, Gomez also knows that sometimes the best way to express self-love is to forgo all the products and appreciate the real you. Read on to see Gomez practice what she preaches, sharing her natural beauty with the world.
