Sean Dyche left raging on touchline after Vitaliy Mykolenko denied goalscoring chance as second ball bounces on pitch

EVERTON boss Sean Dyche was left furious at Tottenham as his team was denied a clear goalscoring opportunity when another ball bounced on the pitch.

The Toffees trailed 2-0 just five minutes before half-time following goals by Spurs stars Richarlison and Son Heung-min.

However, the Merseysiders were presented with a massive opportunity to close the gap when a beautiful low ball came from the right.

Vitaliy Mykolenko met the pass at the far post but there was already another ball on the pitch right in front of him.

Mykolenko was left confused and although he shot the right ball his focus was clearly affected by the existence of another in his line of vision.

The left-back’s effort went completely wide and Everton manager Dyche was left seething on the touchline.

The 52-year-old was enraged by that incident and lashed out at the fourth official.

Everton fans would also have none of it as they took to social media where they vented their frustrations.

One fan tweeted: “How did that even happen?”

Another posted: “That’s insane!”

A third commented: “It could be a goal.”

This fan said: “Nah, unacceptable.”

And that one stated: “They should punish the person who did that.”

Everton got a late goal with Andre Gomes in the 82nd minute but couldn’t find an equaliser against Tottenham.
