Sex And The City fans are set to welcome many of the old gang back into their homes when the second season of the show’s reboot premieres later today.
Season 2 of And Just Like That… brings Kim Cattrall briefly back into the fold in a cameo that celebrates the 25th anniversary of the original show and also sees the return of Carrie Bradshaw’s second biggest love, Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett.
Sarah Jessica Parker who famously played Bradshaw in the original TV series, movies and now the reboot, says coming back together on screen with Corbett “felt really comfortable and happy”.

“It’s great to be in [John’s] company again,” Parker told People magazine in an interview released on Wednesday.
“I’ve been pretty public about how much I love him and how easy he is to work with, how skilled he is at what he does. He makes it look easy, but it’s real work.”

The two-time Emmy Award winner spoke in awe of the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star and what he brings to the character, who first appeared in Season 3 of Sex And The City.
“He always just makes Aidan grow from the page in a way that only he can do,” she said.
“It just felt really comfortable and happy.”
Without giving too much away about what’s to come for the former lovers, the actress teased that the fashion-forward sex columnist turned podcast host spends “the back end of the season in his company”.
In a separate interview, Parker spilled on Cattrall’s “sentimental” return to the series as hot-shot publicist Samantha Jones and reveals how it takes place.
Cattrall – who was a part of the original six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and appeared in the two movie spin-offs – did not take part in season one of the show but her character remained in the storyline via text messages sent by Bradshaw to Jones.
“Samantha is present in season one and more so in season two via text. It was just a nice nod to the 25 years (of Sex and the City) to add the face to the text,” Parker told Entertainment Weekly.
”And it’s a really opportune moment in the story, [a] consequential event happening in Carrie’s life, that Samantha rings and they have this quick, lovely, sentimental, funny call.
“And it just feels normal and really nice, and I’m glad that we could manage it and work it out and get it sorted time-wise and schedule-wise.”
While the cameo was meant to be kept tightly under wraps and be a surprise for fans, the news was leaked early, something that upset Parker and her co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.
“Unfortunately now it’s been blown, which is really a bummer,” Nixon told Entertainment Tonight.
“Most of it was just this surprise of her coming back. I think we all are emphasising it’s really brief, it’s just a moment, so don’t be expecting anything other than that.”
Co-creator and executive producer Michael Patrick King revealed he was similarly “upset” by the news getting out so early but said there’s one surprise still to come.
“I am a little bit upset that you even know about it because I really wanted you to be sitting there watching the show, see Carrie look at her phone and all of a sudden seeing Samantha,” King told Entertainment Tonight.
“But there’s a secret. You don’t know why she’s there and what’s going to happen.”
The return of Samantha Jones was a surprise to fans after Cattrall had a massive fall out with Parker, leading her to turn down a third movie in the franchise and skip the first season of the reboot.
Cattrall had publicly hit out at Parker for offering her condolences on social media after the sudden death of brother Chris Cattrall in 2018.
Cattrall wrote on social media that Parker’s “continual reaching out” was “a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now”.
“You are not my family. You are not my friend,” she continued before asking Parker to “stop exploiting our tragedy” and linking to an article speculating on a feud between the pair.
