Roy Hodgson ‘at risk of SACK at Crystal Palace as Eagles booed off vs Bournemouth with struggling Prem boss top target’

ROY HODGSON is reportedly at risk of being sacked by Crystal Palace following their 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth.

The Eagles have won just one of their last eight matches.

That has sparked fan unrest with Palace booed off following the loss to the relegation-threatened Cherries.

A supporter even hurled a missile at Hodgson, 76, after the match with police investigating the alleged incident.

Poor form and fan discontent has led Palace bosses to scrutinise Hodgson’s position, report the Daily Mail.

The veteran boss is under contract until the end of the season with the club planning to appoint a new manager in the summer.

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper is a long-term favourite and Palace may be forced to make a move for the Englishman sooner than they would have hoped.

Cooper, 43, is also under pressure following a run of just one win in 11 games, with his side beaten 5-0 by Fulham on Wednesday.

Hodgson was expected to steer Palace comfortably away from the relegation zone thanks to a talented squad that includes the likes of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi.

Injuries have hampered the former England boss, who faces the daunting prospect of Liverpool and Manchester City up next.

If Hodgson is sacked Palace could try to bring in former MAnchester United coach Kieran McKenna.

The highly-rated manager won promotion from League One with Ipswich last season and is on course to repeat the trick in the Championship this campaign.
