Roman Fury is the FIFTH in his family to fight on Channel 5 – Tyson went on to stardom but what happened to the rest?

ROMAN FURY became the FIFTH in his family to shine on Channel 5.

The cruiserweight – who had no amateur background – went 3-0 with a brutal knockout of Bradley Davies.

And it would have been seen by masses as it featured on free-to-air TV on Channel 5.

The station has been somewhat of a happy hunting ground for the Fury family.

After all, it is where superstar Tyson made his name.

The current WBC heavyweight world champion had several fights on Channel 5 in his early days when signed to Mick Hennessy.

In 2011, he beat Derek Chisora over 12 rounds for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.

It was considered an upset at the time and a massive THREE MILLION viewers tuned in.

Fury’s later wins against Nicolai Firtha, Neven Pajkic, Martin Rogan, Vinny Maddalone, Kevin Johnson and Steve Cunningham were also on Channel 5.

Some of 35-year-old Tyson’s relatives also fought on his undercards on the terrestrial TV channel.

Cousin Phil boxed on the night of Tyson’s 2011 win over Chisora, losing on the undercard to Lee Noble.

Tyson’s brother Young Hughie’s last fight against Imantas Davidaitis, which he won over four rounds, was aired on Channel 5.

And cousin Hughie – like the Gypsy King – made early strides on the channel while signed with Hennessy.

His 2018 KO against Sam Sexton garnered a huge 2.9m viewers.

The only big name from the family not to be on the platform is Tommy, who shot to mainstream fame in 2019 on reality TV show Love Island.

Tommy, 24, boxed exclusively on BT Sports under Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren.

That included a pay-per-view fight against YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul, 26, which he won on points with over 800,000 buys.

But after leaving Warren, Tommy beat Paul’s arch enemy KSI in DAZN PPV bout, which organisers say sold 1.3m buys.
