RIO FERDINAND slammed Manchester United flops as he told Erik ten Hag how to improve results.
United have had their worst start to the season for 61 years after losing eight of their 15 games.

Ferdinand, 44, declared United are in crisis as he slammed the team’s lack of identity.
The pundit compared the Red Devils to other Premier League teams who have a clear style of play and criticised Erik ten Hag for not being able to do the same.
He said on TNT Sports: “If you made them play in black and white and watched the game you would not know which team it was. United would not stand out from the crowd.
“If you did that with [Roberto] De Zerbi’s team at Brighton, Eddie Howe’s team, Pep’s [Guardiola] team, Emery at Villa, you would know which team it was.
“This season it has gone from a bit of optimism to disbelief. That’s why I say it’s a crisis.”
Ferdinand was asked what he would do to turn around the dreadful form after Newcastle dumped United out of the Carabao Cup with a thrashing at Old Trafford.
The club legend criticised the lack of consequences for bad performances, suggesting certain players should be dropped when not playing well.
He added: “There has to be consequences for bad performances. Far too many players continually play bad performance after bad performance.

“If there are no repercussions or consequences you can take the mick, you can take your foot off the pedal knowing ‘I’ll be alright next week, there is no real pressure on me to perform today because I’ll play next week anyway.”
“That needs to be looked at.”
