RING has unveiled a brand new video doorbell that’s even better at detecting intruders.
The firms latest device, the all-new Ring Battery Doorbell Pro, sends motion alerts that are “more accurate” than previous models.
Colour images are picked up even if there’s not much light around
Greater detection tech should help keep intruders away
It uses advanced radar-powered 3D Motion Detection to power features such as Bird’s Eye Zones and Bird’s Eye View.
This provides an aerial perspective to pinpoint and only send an alert when the Ring doorbell detects movement in that exact location, with more specific information for individual motion events.
Ring says the Battery Doorbell Pro’s camera offers “ultimate image quality” with its 1536p HD+ lens.
And a Low-Light Sight feature means illumination from a streetlight or landscape lighting is all the device needs to keep you seeing in clear colour, even when it’s dark.
It includes all the usual Ring features seen on previous kit too, such as integration with Alexa.
And the premium tools like Package Alerts and Person Alerts remain a paid-for privilege.
How does it match up to other Ring doorbells?
The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro serves as an upgrade from Ring’s previous model, the Battery Video Doorbell Plus.
Video quality remains the same at 1536p HD.
The design looks virtually the same too.
Ring says advanced and improved features include the radar-powered 3D Motion Detection with Bird’s Eye View and Bird’s Eye Zones.
Low Light Sight, Colour Pre-Roll, dual-band Wi-Fi and noise cancelling Audio+ are also new.
The cost is different too by about £40 / $50.
Ring’s Battery Doorbell Pro will cost £199.99 / $229.99.
It’s released on March 20 in the UK and March 6 in the US.
