A classic Ford Escort RS2000 is up for sale at auction – and it’s in stunningly original condition.
The low-mileage 1992 RS model has just 16,000 miles on the clock, and comes complete with a personalised number plate.

With just two owners from new, the racy Escort is in awesome condition with a modified exhaust being the only update to how the car left the Ford factory 30 years ago.
First introduced in 1991, the Mk5 RS2000 was intended to recapture the spirit of sporty RS models from the 70s.
This particular car is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces a meaty 150bhp.
The RS is finished in classic Diamond White paint, while the figure-hugging Recaro front seats give it a racy flavour, along with the three-spoke steering wheel and 15-inch twin five-spoke alloys.
As a bonus, the new owner will also get to keep the personal reg ‘J200 ORD’ which is included in the sale price.
And, for extra reassurance, the Escort comes with the owner’s manual, a stamped service booklet, the V5C certificate and a selection of maintenance invoices, while the most recent MOT test took place in June 2023, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories.
Collecting Cars said: “This Ford Escort RS2000 is a lesser-seen 1990s performance car, which presents in wonderfully original condition with factory paint, with an aftermarket exhaust system being the only known modification.
The online auction closes on Friday 16th June, so there’s still plenty of time to get your bid in.
