Experts say they were receiving just two calls a month about the problem three months ago.
But calls from parents asking for help with children suffering from vaping addiction are now flooding in daily.
Professionals at the UK Addiction Treatment Group – who run seven rehab centres across the country – say they have witnessed a “marked rise” in calls about the problem.
And bosses reckon the Government has made the problem worse by not banning disposable vapes sooner.
Single-use vapes sold in bright colours and sweet flavours are to be banned in England, it was announced last week.
But UKAT’s Nuno Albuquerque said: “It is welcome but too little too late. They are already an established part of youth culture and there’s not enough regulation around their sale to under 18s.”
The number seeking help is up 50 per cent.
Nuno said: “It could be parents, but also youngsters seeking help. We have no doubt vaping will soon outstrip smoking.”
