Rebel Wilson may be all loved up with her fiancée Ramona Agruma now, but her road to meeting The One was not without its bumps.
The 43-year-old Australian actress has opened up in a recent interview, and she explained that before meeting Agruma, 37, her Pitch Perfect castmates “saved” her from dating a “slightly scary” relationship with someone she believes was a “criminal”.
“I did go out with one guy I nicknamed ‘The Criminal’,” Wilson told Betches co-founder Jordana Abraham and comedian Jared Freid in the latest episode of their podcast U Up?.

”I think he was like a legit criminal,” Wilson continued, saying once she began “finding out a few things” she “obviously dumped him” – but she made sure to do it in a “really easy way” so he “wouldn’t come after [her] or anything.”
Wilson explained the whole ordeal was longer than she was letting on, but revealed her Pitch Perfect castmates played a key role in it.
“Basically, the Pitch Perfect girls saved me from that one,” Wilson continued.
“They saw a few things on the internet that was like, ‘Oh, this guy, Rebel…'” she continued, noting she hadn’t done a deep Google search into the unnamed man’s background, but her castmates “found out some s–t”, and that was that.

Wilson also disclosed a “weird” incident with the unidentified ex-boyfriend, where she was in New York City and he was supposed to fly out and meet her for a fun weekend together.
When she asked him, however, what his flight number was so she could organise a driver to pick him up from the airport, he kept avoiding giving her a straight answer.
He finally told her he was “under investigation” and he was not allowed to fly across state lines.
“And I was like, ‘What?'” she said, before revealing she met him on a film set.

”It was only a little, casual thing, so I didn’t get too deep into that situation, which was for the best,” Wilson concluded.
The Bridesmaids star is now happily together with Agruma, with the couple also raising Wilson’s daughter, Royce Lillian, who was born via surrogate in 2022, together.
Wilson and Agruma revealed their engagement on February 18, nine months after they went public with their romance.
