Real Madrid star Karim Benzema ‘offered transfer to ANY Saudi club he wants as government makes bumper offer’

REAL Madrid star Karim Benzema has been offered a transfer to any Saudi Arabian club he wants.

The Saudi government have reportedly tabled a bumper offer to bring the French striker to the Middle East.

Benzema has enjoyed a trophy-laden 14-year stay in the Spanish capital, winning 24 major honours in that time.

However, his future at the Santiago Bernabeu appears less than certain ahead of the summer transfer window.

His most recent contract extension currently expires at the end of June, although Benzema is said to have agreed terms on a new deal.

The 35-year-old is understood to have already renewed his contract for the 2023-24 season, although it has yet to be announced.

This comes after claims he had triggered an unwritten clause which extended his deal by winning the Ballon d’Or in October.

Benzema now appears to be having doubts over remaining in Spain, though, after receiving an eye-watering proposal from Saudi Arabia.

El Mundo report he has been offered an £86million deal without taxes.

The offer also includes additional fees for being an ambassador for the country’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup as well as a choice of club and residence in a private neighbourhood.

Cristiano Ronaldo signed a similar deal when he joined Al-Nassr, meanwhile Lionel Messi has also reportedly been approached in recent weeks.

The offer from the Saudi government is their second for Benzema, having previously been knocked back by the Los Blancos captain.

Benzema rejected a two-year deal worth £26million-a-season from Saudi Arabia, but has now had his head turned by the improved offer.

The report adds that Real Madrid are confused by the approach but remain confident Benzema will stay at the club.
