It’s finished in Diamond White paintwork with a white convertible roof.

This example was first registered in December 1985 and has been with the seller and fourth owner since September 2021.

Collecting cars, who are handling the auction, said: “The Diamond White paintwork is understood to be original and is described by the seller as being in generally good condition.

“Stepping inside, the cabin is presented in good shape given the car’s age. The seller notes that an old phone holder was fitted to the dashboard, and has been removed, leaving small holes.

“There is also mild stretching on the seats, a stain on the headlining, a small area of damage of the driver’s side rear body panel trim, and modest signs of use around the trim, but no other major wear.

“This Escort’s most recent maintenance was carried out at an indicated 26,595 miles, which consisted of a new cambelt and water pump being fitted, new brake fluid, and the issues with the handbrake being rectified.”

According to the seller, the car’s last MOT test was conducted in May 2023 at an indicated 26,653 miles, resulting in a pass with one advisory, which notes that all four wheels were protruding slightly beyond the wheel arches.

The car includes a spare wheel, a white vinyl tonneau cover, the V5C, all the owner’s manuals, an original sales brochure, and the service booklet.

The online auction ends on Friday 26th May, and the highest bid at the time of writing was £5,000.

This comes after a custom Rolls Royce, once owned by Mike Skinner of The Streets, has been sold at auction for an affordable price.

Plus, a unique British road supercar described as the world’s “most dangerous” has sold for the eye-watering sum of £600,000 at auction.
