Rangers hero undergoes surgery for brain tumour as stunned fans and team-mates send best wishes

RANGERS hero Michael Mols has revealed that he has undergone surgery for a brain tumour.

The popular Dutchman, who played for the club under his countryman Dick Advocaat, took to social media to break the news.

He shared an image of himself in his hospital bed in Amsterdam and thanked the people who head taken care of him.

He said he would be “giving 100%” and “staying positive”.

He wrote: “Brain tumor operation, done it!

Next step: recovery, giving 100%, staying positive! everybody who took care of me or look after me from Amsterdam UMC,THANK YOU!”

Former Ibrox pal Lorenzo Amoroso was one of the first to get in touch, writing: “Keep strong my friend.”

Former Gers hero Pedro Mendes wrote: “Get well soon my friend”

Aberdeen star Vicente Besuijen was another man passing on his best wishes, saying he “wishes him a speedy recovery”.

Mols remains in touch with figures at Rangers, for whom he turned out in last year’s Masters competition.
