The trio were discussing the individual trophies and sentimental items they’d kept since retirement.

All-time Premier League top goal scorer Shearer declared that he still owns all of his 11 hat-trick balls.

Lineker admitted much of his achievement memorabilia was bagged up in his loft, before a nicely timed question from a fan.

Lineker, 63, read: “Is it true that Micah won Player of the Month and why doesn’t he have it on display?”

Richards responded: “Of course I’ve won it. I think it was in 2007.

“You know what, I think I have it somewhere, but I was burgled while living in Manchester, so I’ve lost a lot of my stuff. I’ll try and find it, but I don’t know where everything is to be honest.”

A producer then intervenes and hands Lineker a note.

The message stated: “Micah Richards has won a Player of the Month trophy – Kevin De Bruyne never has.”

The group were left in fits of laughter throughout the exchange, with Micah particularly tickled.

He joked: “That’s what I mean. People need to put some respect on my name. Big Meeks!”

A shocked Shearer was aghast after hearing the statement and replied: “What? De Bruyne has never won Player of the Month, really? Wow.”

The group then took turns stating how “scandalous it is”.

Richards won the individual accolade in August 2007 under manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

De Bruyne has, however, achieved much more in his storied career with Manchester City.

The 32-year-old generational icon was awarded two Premier League Player of the Year awards in 2020 and 2022.

He also won the UEFA Champions League Midfielder of the Season in 2020 and Premier League Playmaker of the Season three times.

The Belgian midfielder was benched in Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid due to illness.

Another fan then wrote in quizzing Lineker’s ability for a comical tweet.

It said: “Does Lineker have a comedy genius writer for his social media posts or are they all his own work?”

The rest of the podcast saw the team debate which teams pose a real threat to England’s Euro hopes – with France the key contenders.
