PSG ‘believe they ARE still in mix to sign Harry Kane’ despite Bayern Munich leading transfer race for Tottenham star

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN believe they are “in the mix” to sign Harry Kane.

That is despite Bayern Munich leading the race to sign the Tottenham star.

Harry Kane is wanted by a number of top clubsRex

Kane, 29, has one year left on his contract with the North London side.

Despite chairman Daniel Levy previously playing hardball over his departure, he has now been told by Spurs owner Joe Lewis to sell up if he does not sign a new deal.

This movement has seen Bundesliga champions Bayern step up their pursuit, with two top transfer chiefs flying to London for face-to-face talks.

However, according to Sky Sports, French Champions PSG “believe they are in the mix to sign Harry Kane this summer if Tottenham decide to sell.”

This being said, the report adds PSG insiders have indicated an unwillingness to become involved in a bidding war, describing the club’s planned approach as “considered and rational”.

But any approach from the Ligue 1 champions would be dependent on Kane indicating a willingness to move to France, with PSG aware of reports suggesting he is not interested in a move there.

In the case of Bayern Munich, they are said to be hopeful of completing a deal to sign Kane in the next few days.

It was first reported last month that Kane and Bayern had reached an agreement on personal terms.

Thus far Bayern have seen two bids worth £60million and £70m rejected, with Spurs slapping a £100m tag on their ace.

In an effort to keep Kane at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond next summer, he has been offered a new deal worth £400,000-a-week.

Long-term admirers Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the situation while they pursue No.1 target Rasmus Hojlund, who PSG submitted a £43m bid for earlier today.

However, it has been revealed the Red Devils would need to pay Kane an eye-watering £577,000-per-week.
