Prince William and Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas Card has arrived. On Tuesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a new holiday portrait featuring their three kids: Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4. “Sharing a new picture of the family for this year’s Christmas card! 🎄,” William and Kate wrote on Instagram. This year’s family portrait, which features the brood in coordinated denim and blue outfits, was taken by photographer Matt Porteous earlier this year.
The family photo comes on the heels of William and Kate’s recent trip to the US. During their three-day visit to Boston in late November, the royals visited a climate tech startup in Somerville and a nonprofit named Roca, plus attended an award ceremony for William’s Earthshot Prize at MGM Music Hall. William and Kate also sat courtside at a Celtics vs. Miami Heat game; however, they didn’t receive the warmest welcome as they were booed when they appeared on the jumbotron.
The holiday card also comes just two days before the premiere of the second installment of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan.” The latest trailer, released on Dec. 12, dives further into the couple’s decision to step down as senior royals and embark on a new life in California. “I wonder what would’ve happened to us had we not got out when we did,” Harry says in the opening few seconds. William and Kate have yet to publicly comment on the documentary, but according to The Sunday Times, William has reportedly “instructed friends not to retaliate.”
