Premier League fixtures in May moved as Chelsea vs Tottenham is finally rearranged

CHELSEA’S London derby against Tottenham has finally been rescheduled for Thursday, May 2.

The game had initially been set to take place in February, but was rearranged due to the Blues’ participation in the Carabao Cup final.

The game will now take place in a crucial week in the top four race, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

In the weekend prior, Chelsea travel to Aston Villa, while Tottenham host Arsenal.

Spurs’ previous meeting with the Blues this season was notable for Ange Postecoglou‘s side going down to ten men.

Having led early on via Dejan Kulusevski‘s strike, Spurs saw Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie sent off.

Cole Palmer equalised from the penalty spot, before Nicolas Jackson‘s late hat-trick consigned Tottenham to a damaging defeat.

Both teams will now play on Sunday, May 5 – with Chelsea hosting West Ham in an untelevised match, and Spurs travelling to Liverpool, live on Sky Sports.

A number of other matches have also been rescheduled for telly that week.

Luton’s clash with Everton will now go ahead on Friday, May 3, live on Sky Sports.

Arsenal’s home match against Bournemouth has been moved forward to a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday, May 4 to be shown on TNT Sports.

Manchester City will host Wolves later that day at 5:30pm on Sky Sports.

Then on Monday, May 6, Crystal Palace will host Manchester United, also on Sky.

Tottenham are nine points above the Red Devils with a vastly superior goal difference, but face a ghoulish run of fixtures.

Following Sunday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest, Spurs travel to Newcastle before hosting Arsenal ahead of away games at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Postecoglou’s men also have to host Manchester City, although that fixture is yet to be rearranged, having been postponed from its original April 20 date due to the champions’ involvement in the FA Cup semi-finals.
