Times have been hard on Chloe (portrayed by Jessie Elland), particularly following her one night stand with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Yet when residents celebrate Esther’s christening, next week in the ITV soap, drama picks up a pace again as both her and her sister Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) are on tenterhooks.
This is due to the presence of Dingle cousins, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Charity (Emma Atkins).
Chloe and Amy soon rub Charity up the wrong way when they argue and the Woolpack landlady is unimpressed to see them at the christening.
The event begins with vicar Charles Anderson at the helm but Charity’s feud with Amy threatens to put the service in jeopardy.
Both women can’t help themselves and the service is derailed when a fight breaks out, forcing PC Swirling to intervene.
The following day, Amy is nursing a bruised wrist from their run in and Chloe is conflicted about how things escalated.
To make things worse, Mack tries to coerce Chloe into changing her statement to the police for Charity.
Chloe, worried the latter could go to prison, attempts to get Amy to see reason about her false police statement.
But Amy doesn’t budge and, instead, turns on Chloe by suggesting she once again moves out.
A worried Chloe is increasingly defeated as she knows she has nowhere to live over Christmas.
Before long, she lies to Amy that she has found herself a place to stay.
