Cities getting extra shows include Birmingham, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Glasgow.
There will also be a record-breaking 28th show added to Peter’s residency at the O2 Arena in London.
Tickets will go on sale this Sunday at 10am.
Peter appeared on Twitter dressed as Father Christmas in front of a huge crowd to make the announcement.
He said: “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets – and we’ve finally got some more.”
He told Radio 2’s Sarah Cox tonight: “First of all I want to say thanks to everyone who bought tickets to my tour – and we’ve finally managed to book some more extra dates.”
Speaking about returning to the stage, he added: “It’s been absolutely joyous – and people deserve a bit of joy.”
Many fans prepared themselves to scramble for tickets yet again, with one writing: “Typical Peter, trying to make room for everyone well done.”
The comedian, 49, kicked off a marathon 110-date tour this month to a sell-out crowd in Manchester.
Peter, famous for TV hits including Phoenix Nights and Car Share, had been out of the spotlight for the previous four years.
The mammoth new tour is his first since 2010, when he played to more than 1.2 million people.
The comedian’s comeback was announced during an ad in the series launch of I’m A Celeb back at the start of November.
