People are only just realising a McDonald’s fan favourite has been discontinued – and they are fuming

McDonald’s fans are only just realising that a favourite item on the menu has been discontinued.

The fast food giant often shakes up its menu, adding and axing items every few weeks.

But one item that was dropped from the menu in October is the chicken legend.

All flavours of the popular burger were axed, including cool mayo, BBQ and hot and spicy mayo.

And fans of the burger are gutted it still hasn’t returned with some only just realising it was ditched from the menu.

Disappointed customers took to Twitter to share their frustration.

One wrote: “I’m a bit late on finding out about it but I’m so sad that McDonald’s doesn’t do Chicken Legend anymore

While another tweeted: “It’s so disappointing that McDonald’s don’t do Chicken Legends anymore.”

And many more urged the fast food giant to bring back the fan favourite.

“McDonald’s needs to hurry up and bring back the chicken legend,” someone said.

Another commented: “Can we start a petition for UK Maccies to bring back the Chicken Legend pls?”

This isn’t the first time McDonald’s fans have been furious at items being ditched from the menu.

In January, potato waffles, which went down a treat, were removed from the McDonald’s menu in December ahead of the restaurant’s January shake-up.

Fans were left devastated after realising the item had only been on the menu for a short amount of time.

They took to Twitter to share their disappointment.

One gutted customer wrote: “I just want McDonald’s mini potato waffles back.”

While another said: “McDonald’s taking the potato waffles off the breakfast menu has ruined my life.”

Just this week, the restaurant ditched several items and replaced them with eight new ones.

It brought back the famous Big Tasty, which left the menu previously at the same time the Chicken Legend did.

How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?

If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.

The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.

Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.

After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.

How can I save on my McDonald’s order?

There are plenty of ways you can save on your next trip to McDonald’s.

You should choose your branch wisely – menu prices can vary across different restaurants just a couple of miles apart.

We’ve seen Big Mac meals up to 30p cheaper before, which added up over the course of a year could save you a fair few pounds.

You can also get freebies on your birthday if you’ve got the My McDonald’s app.

Remember to log your date of birth on the app though, otherwise you’ll miss out.

You can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 as well if you fill out the quick feedback survey following your last visit.

All you’ll need is your receipt which should have been issued no more than 60 days after your visit.

A 12-digit code will be printed on the proof of purchase and then you can enter the McDonald’s Food for Thought website to fill out a quick survey.
