Nine Entertainment Editor, Richard Wilkins is overwhelmed with joy having met his newest grandchild over the weekend.
The veteran TV presenter, 69, spoke to Today Extra hosts Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell this morning about the arrival of his granddaughter Amira Jean.
He beamed as he spoke about the family’s newest addition who was born on Saturday to parents Nick and Breana Wilkins.

“My son Nick and his beautiful wife Bree had a little bubba on Saturday,” he shared.
Revealing his penchant for numerology he expressed that he was stoked about baby Amira Jean’s April 6 birthdate.
“You know I like numerology so 6, 4, 24 is a good birthday,” he quipped.

Jefferys and Campbell expressed their congratulations to Wilkins and the young family.
“Congratulations man,” said Campbell.
“And congrats to Nick and Bree too, she’s lovely,” Jefferys said.
In response to his colleagues well wishes, Wilkins became emotional.
“Oh it’s beautiful, you’re going to make me cry,” he said.

Wilkins also shared the happy news to his Instagram.
“What an overwhelming joy to meet the youngest member of our little family Amira Jean,” he wrote.
“What a perfect little princess you are … absolutely divine.”
“GrandDaddyPappaBear loves you so much … and can’t wait to watch you make your mark on the world!” he continued.

He concluded his post by sharing his love and pride for the Amira Jean’s parents.
“Congratulations to your magnificent parents Bree and Nick… I love you and am so proud!”
Thousands reacted to the Entertainment Editor’s happy news, with family, friends and fans sharing their congratulations in the comment section.
Wilkins’ daughter in law Breana Wilkins commented: “Best granddaddy papa bear out there”.
“Congratulations! So much love to you all,” commented media personality Jessica Rowe.
The Today Show even expressed their congratulations for Wilkins on the post.
