ONE of Scotland’s youngest self-made millionaires has announced his intention to buy his boyhood club St Mirren.
Richard Dickson, from Glasgow’s Pollokshields, grew up supporting the Buddies and thinks he’s the best option to join other club chiefs in taking the Paisley outfit forward.

The 26-year-old, who makes his money investing in property and land, is a former apprentice electrician and dreams of becoming Scotland’s richest person.
Well known on social media, the entrepreneur divides opinion by flaunting his wealth and driving around in an array of supercars such as his McLaren.
Announcing his big news, he said: “I put my time into business, growing my investments, and ultimately trying to become the most financially successful version of myself as a young man.
“But I was doing all of that with one goal in the back of my mind and that was the eventual ownership of St Mirren Football Club.
“I’m ready to put my money where my mouth is.
“I am ready to make a large time and financial investment into St Mirren.
“I always had a goal to be the youngest Premier League football club owner in Scottish history and I’ve still got quite a few years on my side to be able to do that.
“I understand now that not all of the club is for sale.
“All I’m asking for right now is a conversation.
“I’m young, I’m alternative, and I’m ready to bring fresh ideas to the club.
“If there’s two things I know how to do, it’s how to make money and how to get attention.
“I’m ready to make those skills work for St Mirren and make history by buying into the club I love.”
Just five years ago Richard was earning a basic hourly rate as a trainee electrician after following in his dad’s footsteps.
It was only after he watched a business seminar in Glasgow that he risked everything by quitting his job to chase his dreams.
Now he runs his own mentoring website The Young Entrepreneurs Society and wants to change people’s lives.
The St Mirren Independent Supporters Association (SMISA) bought out the remaining shareholding of chairman Gordon Scott to become majority (51 per cent) owners of the club in 2021.
Along with the Kibble and other private shareholders, Richard is now ready join the inner sanctum to take the side to new heights.
