‘One of a kind’ Porsche with unusual feature hits auction after having just one owner in 30 years

A GORGEOUS Porsche 928 GT with a truly unique feature is up for auction and could be yours next year.

The iconic sports car, considered one of the greatest car designs of the 1980s, is a favourite among car collectors and they’ll be desperate to get their hands on this particular one-of-a-kind iteration.

This one-of-a-kind Porsche 928 GT goes up for auction in January

The ultra rare motor is packed full of features that make it truly unique

That’s because this 928 GT ‘Slantnose’ was specially made and is the only one in existence that comes with flatter pop-up headlights – similar in style to the Porsche 944.

Ordered new by the current owner in 1989, it was customised by the German brand’s very own Porsche Exclusive department – presumably at the request of the original owner.

Indeed, the car’s factory codes confirm that their “Sonderwunsch”, or special wishes team, made the changes – which included removing the standard circular and exposed rising lamps of the 928.

Other features include wider body skirts and wider rear wheel arches, with deep-dish wheel spacers and aerodynamically improved wing mirrors also added.

This special Slantnose 928 remained with its first and only owner from new and has been lovingly maintained for over three decades.

The incredibly rare motor goes up for auction on January 31 as part of RM Sotheby’s Paris auction.

The esteemed auction house are estimating the sale to reach upwards of €280,000 – which is around £242,000.

The 928 GT can hit 60mph in just 5.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of 171mph.

This comes after an “exceptionally rare” Capri, considered to be the “ultimate” by enthusiasts, has gone up for auction.

While it may look like an ordinary Capri on the outside, this model packs a serious punch under the bonnet thanks to an “in-period Turbo Technics conversion” – giving it an impressive 200bhp.

Described as being an “exceptionally rare example of an already highly desirable Capri”, the motor goes up for auction on Boxing Day and collectors are warned “they may struggle to find another” like it.

Elsewhere, Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has opened up on the moment thieves stole his classic Ford Fiesta Mk1 in just “minutes”.

The TV host was due to unveil the Fiesta on the show’s 20th anniversary just hours after it had been fully restored.
