‘Omg I need to go’ scream shoppers as Primark to make ‘brilliant’ change with iconic character at half a dozen stores

PRIMARK has made a huge change at almost half a dozen stores and an iconic character plays a central role.

The high street giant has given some of its biggest cafes a makeover and fans are loving it.

The retailer has unveiled new Hello Kitty cafes in locations such as Manchester

The cafes will offer a range of Hello Kitty inspired treats

Primark cafes in five locations, including Manchester and Edinburgh, have been given a Hello Kitty makeover.

From now until June, they will serve up an array of limited-edition treats inspired by Hello Kitty, such as sweet waffles and savoury ‘bow’ buns, alongside themed beverages including a choice of bubble teas and shakes.

The Sun has asked Primark for a price list for the new items and we will update this article once we hear back.

The cafes will also be covered in Hello Kitty decor, which Primark said will provide the perfect Instagram backdrop.

Sarah Jackson, director of licensing at Primark said: “We want to offer our customers an unforgettable in-store experience and we’re delighted to once again transform our Primarket cafés into a Hello Kitty haven in five locations across the UK.”

Below is the full list of Primark’s with a Hello Kitty cafe:

Fans of Primark and Hello Kitty have taken to social media to share their excitement over the change.

One Facebook user said: “Brilliant. I love Hello Kitty.”

Another wrote: “Omg I need to go.”

A third cried: “I want to goooo I love Hello Kitty.”

And a fourth added: “I’m going to be moving in there!!”

Primark has 192 shops in the UK and has launched quirky concessions at its branches up and down the country.

This includes barbers, a vintage range, Tasty by Greggs cafes and Disney stores in Belfast, Birmingham and Merry Hill.

It has also created a Disney Stitch cafe in its Manchester store.

Half a dozen Primark branches have a Greggs located inside, including those in Newcastle, Bristol and Leeds.

The Sun visited Primark’s Oxford Street store to check out the Greggs cafe and we were pretty impressed.

How to save money at Primark

PRIMARK is a bargain favourite on the high street, but there are more ways to save on your spending.

Secret sales

Primark fans always know to dive in the bargain rail if they’re after money-off products in-store, but there could be “secret” sale items lurking around the rest of the store and throughout the year.

Bigger flagship stores in particular will always have an influx of stock, so as new items come in, older products taking up space might be heavily discounted.

Ask for discounts

Don’t be afraid to outright ask for discounts. The worst staff can say is no.

Typically if you pick up an item with a defect or foundation mark or similar, you can simply ask for a discount – just explain it’s not quite up to scratch.

Ex Primark employees have revealed to The Sun in the past that it can be pretty standard practice for branches to offer 10% off a damaged or faulty item.

Look for dupes

Primark’s budget garments are a cheap way to refresh your wardrobe with plenty of items from its exclusive range.

But the store can be a great place to look for a cheaper version of something you’ve seen elsewhere too.

Fans have spotted plenty of items from the retailer that pose a striking resemblance to other pricier products on the market.

Pick up a cheaper dupe and your friends might not even be able to tell the difference.

Website trick

Primark launched a new website in April 2022, allowing shoppers to check stock levels at their local stores for the first time ever.

This means you can browse online and make sure you head to a branch that has the style and size you need.

There are thousands more products displayed on its website now, too, so you can get a better look at the current collections.

Primark has also unveiled its WellWorn vintage concession at three stores.

The concessions allow shoppers to get their Primark hauls and bag preloved clothing all under one roof.

The fast-fashion chain partnered with The Vintage Wholesale Company in August 2022 to launch the offering.

The Sun visited Primark’s WornWell concession on London’s Oxford Street.

Just last month, Primark revealed its plans to open new branches and invest and renovate more than a dozen of its existing shops.

The plans are part of its new £75million investment in its UK store estate.

Primark previously revealed that new shops will pop up in Bury St. Edmund, Teesside Park and Glasgow Fort and dates for their opening have finally been confirmed.

The retailer has also continued rolling-out self-service checkouts in a number of stores to help reduce queuing times.

They were first rolled out at sites in SheffieldNorthamptonWest Bromwich and Kingston as part of a trial.

We tried Primark’s new self-service checkouts – shoppers will love it but not taking your receipt could catch you out.
