Newcastle fan stabbed three times in Milan after being ‘ambushed by pack of eight thugs’ ahead of Champions League tie

A NEWCASTLE United fan was allegedly ambushed and stabbed by a pack of men in Milan ahead of today’s Champions League match.

The British man, 58, was reportedly attacked by between seven to eight men at midnight and was rushed to hospital.

The man is reportedly still in hospital

Local media reported that the man was targeted in a neighbourhood near the centre of Milan in Navigili when he was walking with a friend.

The pack reportedly stabbed the victim three times, both in the arm and the back.

The Newcastle fan was allegedly saved by police and taken straight to a hospital to assess his wounds, according to Milano Today.

The outlet reported that the injury to his back is what worried the doctors, but that his physical state is improving.

The motive behind the stabbing is not currently known and nothing was stolen from the victim.

Cops are said to be investigating whether it was a football-related attacked.

Around 5,000 Newscastle fans are in the Italian city to cheer on the Magpies in their match against AC Milan at the San Siro.

It will be the English club’s first Champions League game in 20 long years.
