New Google Chrome button lets naughty users quickly hide their recent embarrassing internet history

GOOGLE is giving naughty Chrome users a chance to quickly delete their recent internet history with a brand new button.

The feature is ideal if you’ve been looking at something you shouldn’t or you want to hide all evidence of that surprise birthday gift.

It’s one of several new and improved safety and security updates announced by Google, including a huge plan to ditch passwords.

Quick clear gets rid of everything from the last 15 minutes instantly.

The tech giant has been testing it for some time.

But the option is now ready for the masses and should be coming very soon to Chrome on Android devices.

It even closes tabs.

The revised option is done in three simple taps so you can be pretty speedy about clearing everything.

All you need to do is select the three dot menu in the top right and go to Clear browsing data which will be set to 15 minutes by default.

From there, tap the Clear data button.

Google’s most shocking announcement was it’s intention to move away from passwords in favour of passkeys.

Ever-risky passwords are easily abused in the wrong hands whereas a passkey adopts the same technique used when unlocking a smartphone, such as Face ID or Touch ID.

These rely on “secure cryptography” to make sure your passkey can never be leaked.

Google says it is now making passkeys the default option across personal Google Accounts.

This means users will see a pop-up urging them to switch to passkeys.
