A PAIR of bizarre ear wax cleaning headphones are going viral and they’re not for the faint hearted.
The unusual invention could be more effective than the classic cotton bud but they’re pricey and look rather disgusting after use.

A video of the headphones was recently posted on YouTube by SafKan Health.
The caption explains: “Impacted earwax is the leading cause of conductive hearing loss according to Harvard Medical School.
“Syringes, spray bottles, and water flossers are time-consuming, messy, and antiquated.
“Learn how healthcare professionals are reducing procedure time and treating more patients with OtoSet.
“OtoSet by SafKan Health is the first automated and FDA-cleared ear cleaning device for clinical use.”
All users have to do is push a button and water shoots in their ears.
Then, “micro-suction technology” is said to breakdown impacted ear wax and remove it quickly and safely.
The company refers to the process as a “mess-free procedure” but you will end up seeing a lot of mess in the headphone water at the end.
Twitter user @JaValle tweeted a video of the headphones in action.
It now has millions of views and lots of mixed reactions in the comments.
One person replied: “I wish I can unsee this.”
The video shows water the process of water squirting into the wearer’s ear and wax ejecting into the clear headphones.
The color that the water changed shocked some people.
One person joked “The way I thought these were tea brewing headphones.”
However, a lot of viewers were impressed and keen to buy the headphones.
That was until they saw the price tag.
The device comes at a cost of $2,753 (£2,297).
That’s a lot more than the simple cotton bud.
One big upside is users will likely get a more thorough clean in the short time of 35 seconds.
Unfortunately, the ear wax cleaning headphones are supposed to be used by healthcare professionals only.
That means members of the public will need to find an ear specialist who invests in them if they want to try the device out.
