The subsidiary, owned by Turkish Airlines, will fly to 93 destinations in total, including 41 domestic and 52 international.
However, the carrier hopes that this is only the start, with aims for a fleet of 200 aircraft within the next decade.
Ticket sales were launched earlier this week, with flights due to set off before the end of the month.
A statement published to the airline’s website reads: “Founded as a successful brand of Turkish Airlines with the goal of ‘everybody to fly’, AnadoluJet continues its journey as AJET after successfully fulfilling its mission of bringing over 100 million guests safely to their loved ones in 16 years.
“AJet aims to make the airline experience more modern, comfortable and accessible by meeting the sky as of March 31, when it will start its flights.
“In the summer of 2024, AJet will fly to a total of 93 destinations, 41 on domestic routes and 52 on international routes.
“With 95 aircraft in its fleet, and plans to fly to a total of 44 countries, it aims to have a fleet of 200 aircraft in the next 10 years as a global growth target.”
A spokesperson told Travel Weekly: “The new airline will offer a more modern, comfortable, and accessible experience for its customers, with plans to become a leading low-cost airline on a global scale, further strengthening its competitive position in the market.”
Flights from London to Istanbul are available on the Ajet website from £131 one way.
They aren’t the only new flights to have been launched from the UK this year.
In fact, 2024 will see the arrival of a host of new routes from the UK opening up.
